Research agenda

The agenda is a frame, not a fence. Seasons refine it; funded work redraws it.

What the money is for

Research toward an AGI future that is controlled, reliable, and answerable — with a preference for work concrete enough to act on and honest enough to check.

• Control. How capable systems are kept within intended bounds: oversight mechanisms, shutdown and containment procedures, delegation with limits.
• Reliability. How we know a system does what it claims: evaluation methods, stress tests, failure taxonomies, verification practice.
• Institutions. The registries, courts, insurance schemes, standards bodies, and rituals a world approaching AGI is missing — designed and stress-tested on paper before anyone has to improvise them.
• Foresight. Scenarios and artifacts from the future that make abstract risk legible and hurried decisions less likely.

How topics are chosen

We do not pick winners. Zones set the frame; each season poses one question; signatories vote, one ballot each; the funding pool follows the vote. The full trail — question, votes, disbursement, result — is recorded on the public ledger.

What we do not fund

Capability work with no safety case. Marketing dressed as research. Anything that cannot name its own failure mode.

Reporting

Funded work reports back in public. Reports are linked from the ledger entry that funded them, so every claim can be traced to its receipt.
