Every era invents the institutions it needs. The joint-stock company, the patent office, the central bank, the peer-reviewed journal — each was once a strange new answer to a strange new problem. The approach of general-purpose AI is the strangest new problem yet, and most of the institutions it needs do not exist. This zone designs them.
